"Flade Cementstøberi" was founded as a traditional concreter back in 1965. In 1970 the development and production of exclusive outdoor fireplaces in natural material commenced. In 1989 the company, which later was renamed Natur-Støberiet, grew bigger and started to export outdoor fireplaces. The range was marketed under the name NEXØ, which refers to the place where the beautiful sandstones come from.
Today more than 75% of the production is exported to countries including the USA and the Far East.
NEXØ A/S has it’s own quarry on the island of Bornholm. The fireplaces themselves are handcrafted on the island of Mors in Northern Jutland, Denmark.
In 2007 NEXØ A/S was certified according to the stringent requirement in the Germaine TÜV program, ensuring extensive quality control during manufacturing of fireplaces and barbecues.
